
Michele Nuzzo is a freelance commercial writer, ghostwriter, editor
with more than 25 years’ experience in corporate, clinical and
community-based settings. She helps individuals and organizations
polish their publications and create copy that sells.
- Michele writes or edits copy for annual reports, auction catalogs,
brochures, business proposals, direct mail packages, employee
handbooks, fact sheets, feature articles, flyers, grant applications,
newsletters, operations manuals, policy and procedure manuals,
press releases, sales letters, speeches, training manuals and
Web site text. She has reported for Brentwood News and
Southern Sierran and is in the process of writing a nonfiction
book for caregivers.
Michele understands the challenges faced by businesses and nonprofit

new customers, clients or donors.
- Before launching her freelance writing practice, Michele was
employed in corporate settings as a paralegal, human resources
consultant and employee benefits advisor. Her employers included
ARCO, Bank of America, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the Los
Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee.
- Michele has worked in clinical settings with dually-diagnosed
adolescents, homeless youth, and people with cancer or HIV/AIDS.
She is the former director of development and communications for
The Wellness Community—South Bay Cities and Common Ground—the
Westside HIV Community Center.
- She has earned numerous writing and management awards including
the Joyce Eisenberg-Keefer national essay contest, the Psi Chi
Distinguished Student Award and performance bonuses from ARCO
and the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee.
- Michele earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature,
a paralegal certificate and a certificate in print journalism
from UCLA. She has a master’s degree in clinical psychology
from Pepperdine University.
- Michele is a member of the Greater West Los Angeles Chamber
of Commerce, Independent Writers of Southern California, Investigative
Reporters and Editors, and the Society of Professional Journalists.
